Product MDM and PLM/PIM Lead Consultant
to lead information management strategy engagements with a Product emphasis. This person would use First San Francisco s proven assessment and workshop frameworks to deliver high value information management, strategy and governance programs.

  • Understands the entire product life cycle, including overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
  • Understands the complexity of product taxonomy and other hierarchical structures, product identification and product-related reference data.
  • Creates product information management strategies and deploy technical recommendations.
  • Helps guide the strategy and vision for product data capabilities with the organization and manage execution.
  • Leads technical assessment engagements and workshops based on FSFP s methodology.
  • Works with Data Integration Hubs around data modeling, data mappings, data validation, hierarchy management and overall security.
  • Implements MDM suite of tools to design, develop, optimize and support MDM for various domains.
  • Collaborates with the business to build and lead data governance function across organization using industry best practices.
  • Defines, configures and optimizes various MDM processes and stages including data ingestion/acquisition, standardization/enrichment, harmonization and data provisioning using MDM tools.
  • Drives data standardization (e. g. locations/addresses and other similar attributes)
  • Helps clients build in-house MDM skills around various MDM technologies, Data Quality tools, database systems, analytical tools and Big Data platforms
  • Defines & implements measurable KPIs to gauge ROI and success of enterprise MDM initiative.
  • Designs scalable and reliable solutions for moving data efficiently across systems from various internal and external data sources in both, batch and real-time modes
  • Interfacess directly with business and process partners to understand their needs and objectives first-hand
  • Provides training on how to interpret and use master data for business analysis
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members to achieve partners , business and customer goals
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct/indirect reports (as applicable) promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
  • Provides recommendations from a technical and architectural perspective, highlighting current state, future state, best practices, and information management solution offerings.
  • Develops road maps/methodologies required to move from current state to future state, including changes and implications to existing architecture and systems.
  • Manages client expectations and relationships, establish credibility at all levels within the client and build problem-solving partnerships with the client and colleagues.
  • Presents product information management solutions and value-added services, complying with the Company's information management policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates sessions for technical requirements gathering, data capturing and analysis, and business rule identification.
  • Engages in software evaluations from a data management, measurement and monitoring perspective.
  • Facilitates organization change management processes. Requirements:

  • BA/BS or advanced degree in Business/Computer Science/MIS or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • At least 3 years experience in Information Management: Data or Enterprise Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Warehousing and Business Analytics.

  • Experience with Data Governance and Change Management as it pertains to the technical side of Information Management is a plus.

  • Past work with organizations that are new to more rigorous management and governance of product data.

  • Skilled with PIM / PLM / MDM software and technologies.

  • Familiarity with Business glossary, data dictionary, data catalog and data lineage.

  • Experience with tool selection and use of enterprise architecture tools, data movement tools

  • Data Acquisition experience including data on-boarding and ingestion.

  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in business analysis: gathering data, synthesizing information, forming insights and providing feedback.

  • Ability to facilitate small group (up to 20) discussions and decision-making.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with multiple and sometimes conflicting personal agendas.

  • Knowledge around unstructured data and semantic master data.

  • Involvement with data analysis, data modeling, data integration (ETL), data profiling (tool based) and design in the MDM space.

  • Knowledge of leading trends and best practices in MDM.

  • Technical knowledge of MDM, SAP and/or ERP a plus!

  • MDM Implementation experience

  • Expert level understanding of MDM processes and tools, Data Quality, Data Integration, Workflow, relational, flat and big data

  • Strong experience with data and information architecture:

  • Proficiency in dimensional data modeling, Schema design in Data Warehouses, Service design, development & implementation for ingestion and consumption.

  • Solid understanding of storage solutions: Cloud, Hybrid and On-premise.

  • Project Management skills-ability to manage complex data oriented programs to deliver on-time results and recommendations for action/next steps

  • A proven track record of working with Senior and C-level executives

  • Professional on-site consulting experience, preferably with a large management consulting or systems integration firm, or for the services arm of an enterprise software company.

  • Experience in program/project management. PMP certification is a plus!
