This is a remote position on Eastern Standard Time. This Contract is on a Corp to Corp basis for a minimum of six (6) months to a maximum of twelve (12) months. The estimated start date is mid July 2018.
The Web Developer will provide assistance with web development, configuration, support and implementation of web applications and campus websites. The incumbent assists in developing, modifying and supporting mobile applications and web applications using the currently supported web technologies of the campus; assists in application design, development, implementation, enhancement, maintenance and support of information system applications following existing programming standards and policies; assists in supporting the integration of software packages with existing application module(s); provides comprehensive documentation and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis up to two years. Equivalent to five years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities General knowledge of: programming and testing methods and techniques for software applications. Prior working with higher education institutions (preferably systems installed at campuses.) Basic knowledge of general analytical methods and techniques, as well as specific detailed knowledge and experience with web development technologies and tools including HTML, CSS, JavaS, Red Hat Linux and MySQL. General knowledge of specific industry standard applications programming language and of standard systems analysis techniques; and generally accepted documentation methods. Previous experience with 508 Accessibility requirements. Thorough knowledge of Data visualization libraries including HighCharts, and d3. Ability and specialized skills to: analyze problems; propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Good communication skills needed for discussions with supervisors, peers, and end users.
