Remote PHP Developer; Laravel; 35k

Home Based Developer required by successful company for £30-35k to be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of their online CRM system that has been designed and developed for the new homes industry. The web application is built on the platform: Linux/Nginx/MySQL/PHP (LEMP stack), using the Laravel framework.The client has no office as such as it is run virtually however the successful candidate is expected to meet at Rugeley, Staffordshire a couple of times per month at most for meetings.

This is a full stack role, requiring both back-end and front-end development skills. Working with our sales/account manager and directors, you will be briefed to carry out work such as:

·System migrations, from ContactBuilder v1 to v2

·New system setups

·Ongoing product development

·One-off client amends, typically to outputs such as reports

·Ongoing support and bug-fixing

·Technical liaison with client's IT departments

·Development of integrations with third-party applications

Essential skills:

·Advanced working knowledge of server-side programming, using the PHP programming language

·Advanced working knowledge of MySQL

·Advanced working knowledge of MVC (Laravel preferred)

·Advanced working knowledge of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

·Experience and working knowledge of web server management and hosting environments (Forge/Digital Ocean)

·Ability to build reusable code and libraries for future use

·Working knowledge in both UI and server side design patterns

·Experience building responsive websites/applications

·Familiarity with usability, accessibility, version control and security methods

·Experience in carrying out documented application testing

·Experience using Git (Bitbucket preferred)

'Nice to have' skills:

·Experience in building and maintaining CRM systems

·Experience in jQuery

·Knowledge of email platforms such as Campaign Monitor and Sparkpost

Personal attributes:

·At least 3 years commercial experience of programming and web development

·Strong awareness of latest digital technology trends

·Strong reputation for creativity, flexibility, versatility and problem solving

·A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software programming

·Experience carrying out successful work in a home-based/solitary environment

·Be capable of attending client meetings as the technical representative for the agency

·Willingness to 'chip in' and assist wherever possible

·Proven experience of working to tight deadlines

This is a home-based role. You will be expected to maintain an environment within your home in which you can carry out your duties in a professional and efficient manner. Your remuneration package will be inclusive of an annual allowance in respect of home working, intended cover contributions to costs incurred as a consequence of home working. You will be expected to attend the office (based in Rugeley, Staffordshire) for regular catch up meetings (anticipated to be every two to four weeks).
