The Principal Solutions Architect (SA) effectively penetrates and drives solutions within targeted accounts and expands penetration in existing accounts. The Principal SA will develop and work on problems/projects of deep, diverse complexity and scope, exercising independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a technology solution. The Principal SA will act as a project leader providing direction, facilitating information and validating decision processes. The Principal SA oversees and mentors other team members and large projects per management direction.
The position requires an acute understanding of both the technology and business objectives of the account to enable the delivery of solutions that will in turn contribute to the success of existing accounts and the acceleration of new customer volume. The Principal SA will speak from experience and offer insight on successes and failures relative to the customer's industry and/or objectives, and provide solutions based on the PCC solution portfolio. The Principal SA must demonstrate strong competencies in multiple technology areas including; Compute, Storage, Networking and Virtualization technology concepts and how they relate to the next generation of Data Center solutions and Cloud offerings.

  • 14 plus years of solution architect experience.
  • Bachelors' degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional or technical sales certifications are required in two or more of the following technologies and/or vendors: HP, Cisco, EMC, Dell Server and Storage, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, IBM, Server and Storage, Converged and/or Hyper-Converged platforms.
  • An understanding of leading manufactures routing and switching architecture.
  • Experience with storage and virtualization products from leading manufactures.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Converged Infrastructure concepts and the benefits that Cloud solutions provide.
  • Advanced working knowledge and/or familiarity with the following technologies:

    • HP, Dell, Lenovo and Cisco Blade and Rack Servers systems and related storage products
    • Enterprise Storage Arrays -- HP, EMC, IBM, Dell, NetApp
    • Hyper-Converged platforms
    • Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Software Defined Data Center (SDDC)
    • Cloud Solution Offerings and providers
    • VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft products
    • Microsoft Enterprise environment
    • Linux, UNIX or AIX Enterprise environment
    • Data Center consolidation and Cloud solutions
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
  • Verifiably successful professional Business-to-Business solutions selling experience.

  • Excellent time management, communication, presentation, prioritization and negotiation skills.

  • Account planning skills with experience in up-sell and cross-sell strategies.

  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate the value proposition.

  • This is a remote position with up to 50% travel in the US only.
