Must be able to support multiple locations: Oklahoma City, OK; Kansas City, KS; Huntsville, AL; Reston, VA - telecommuting available but must be able to be on- site when necessary.
SAIC is looking for Solutions Architect (SA) to join the Software Process Directorate specifically to provide expert Agile services and to assist the market SW segment in solving challenging, complex, mission critical problems. The Solutions Architect will support a Huntsville based Master SA with opportunities across the company. Up to 30% travel maybe required. Duties include providing Enterprise Agility Coaching. The candidate will be responsible for executing digital transformation engagements individually or leading a team of coaches dedicated to coaching and mentoring Lean-Agile delivery teams, roles, stakeholders and other organizational leaders with the overall goal of organizational transformation to true organic business agility based on a Lean- Agile value system. As an Enterprise Agility Coach the ideal candidate will provide expertise in Lean/Agile practices and one or more knowledge domains (i.e. technical, business, transformation) while having developed skill in facilitation, mentoring, training and professional coaching. The Enterprise Agility Coach-s purview is multi-team and looking out toward the wider customer organization and portfolio. The Enterprise Agility Coach should be comfortable working at all levels to help the organization use Lean, Agile, Kanban, Systems Thinking, Human Factors, and Scaling Frameworks as strategic and tactical catalysts of culture change and increasing successful business outcomes. This role will help guide the organization in the use of new ways of thinking and working.
Assessment of current Lean- Agile capabilities including creation of and reporting metrics
Program and Management support
Tracking and analysis of organization-s Agile investment
Support the implementation of a continuous delivery pipeline and DEVOPS with continuous integration/continuous delivery and automated testing in the development and production systems environments
Coach and support client teams and leadership on relentless improvement as part of the Lean-Agile mindset and implementation of the SAFe, Organization Mindset, Systems Thinking, Human Factors, and other ways of thinking and working including individual, team, and program level mentoring and process improvements
Implement the Agile Framework Roadmap
Drive change in leadership of clients enterprise portfolio management function towards creation of value streams while breaking down organizational silos and artificial barriers to productivity including training on Lean-Agile budgeting and governance
Training client teams and leadership as directed to include Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe -) licensed courses and custom SAIC Lean-Agile classes
Help clients get to the tipping point of implementation of Lean-Agile development processes and Lean-Agile capabilities
Performing initial and ongoing agility assessments using various assessment tools
Coaching client teams and programs through initial and on-going iterations.
Assessing for and recommending ongoing actions to be taken by clients.
Teaching and enabling the client how to manage continuous improvement in their transformation, not leading the transformation for the client
Other duties include assisting with development of technical proposals and documentation to include:
Participating in and help shape early Capture discussions on solutioning approaches (technical and programmatic) that are cost drivers to proposals
Ensuring compliance with and responsiveness to all RFP requirements.
Interpreting data from various sources, generate effective solutions to problems, make sound business decisions, and generate alternative approaches to problem solving
Preparing and delivering the technical volume and all associated proposal deliverables.
Develop the Technical Readiness Review (TRR) briefing package content and lead the TRR presentation
Assist with the integrated technical solution (approach, architecture, analyses, technologies, trades, BOEs, and staffing plan/decisions) across participating SLs
Promote development of repeatable/compelling technical approaches.
Work closely with the technical solution lead to ensure that a winning solution is effectively transferred to the technical volume.
Provide input to B&P budgets and forecasts.
Evaluate and incorporate appropriate comments into the volume following major reviews.
Additional activities may include:
Fostering a greater understanding across the SAIC enterprise of the Internal Research& Development (IR&D) and Manufacturing & Production Engineering (M&PE) investments and how they enhance probability of win and ensure cost efficient and responsive proposals.
Working closely with Strategic Alliance Partners (SAP) to understand their portfolio of services, solutions and products and how those may be used in proposals.
Performing BOE functions and support proposal efforts with repeatable processes to ensure competitive proposals and capture BOE metrics (e.g. composite labor rates by contract/solution type) to better posture estimating efforts on future bids.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a solid background utilizing an agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban) in software development.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, coaching and mentorship experience.
Solid oral, written, and presentation skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Demonstrated experience with lean thinking
Experience in creating Agile training / workshop material
Experience working with large, small, remote and collocated agile teams
Experience in the use of scaling methods such as SAFe, LESS, or industry equivalents.
Agile and Industry certifications such as Scaled Agile Program Consultant 4.0 (SPC4), Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum master (CSM), Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Certifications: SAFe SPC4
DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
10 years of Agile experience
Microsoft tool suite (MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel)
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Project management and execution of financial initiatives, including backlog management and reporting of progress to both internal and external stakeholders Transition experience to include implementation of new products, process modeling/mapping, and requirements documentation using agile methodology.
Experience working with large government organizations to enhance their Agile processes and implementation.
