Job Description

UX Developer
This role will focus on constructing an MVP and it's supporting algorithms. Experimentation and exploration are at the core of what you do. In this role, you will work to effectively turn business questions into data analysis and provide meaningful recommendations. Passions for data science, attention to detail, and enjoy diving deep into data sets and finding interesting patterns through analytical experiments run in a methodical way.
A quick overview of this role would include:

  • Develop and automate algorithms, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs.
  • Design, develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large data sets from multiple disparate sources and identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources. Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
  • Acquire, manage and use data to inform business decisions and product design.
  • Design models and statistical analyses to answer specific questions for internal and external customers.

Act in the front-end UX developer lead capacity to actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing, support and implementation of software functionalities for the prototype-focused building of Web applications.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation and develop MVP. Key attention is paid to ensuring that technical solutions implemented follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and positioned through design, to be scaled once in a production capacity, under sustained load.
( And in the future, responsibilities expand to: ) Work with engineers and other cross functional teams like Product Management, Project Management, Release Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations teams etc. to develop innovative solutions that meet the product-market-fit needs.


  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience including the ability to perform independent analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications in web technologies (Ex's could include: Selenium, Elixir, React, Node.js, Ember, Angular, Java, HTML5, CSS3, SAAS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, among others).
  • Experience developing API's
  • Manipulate data sets and author algorithms
  • Professional experience with other UI frameworks
  • Excellent small team player who can drive a collaborative product team environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Self-driven, able to work independently or within a small team.
  • Expected mid-to-advanced knowledge of JavaScript, Ember (Elixir maybe too?), React/Redux, etc.
  • Experience with MVC frameworks like Rails or Django (or other equiv)
  • Collaborate with UX, Design, User Testing within the company

Preferred Skills: (Normally I would say this all be Required, but for the right person who can learn quickly, could be flexible and quickly study up on these)

  • Familiarity with Progressive Web Applications, Service Workers, and/or
  • Exposure to the fundamentals of responsive application design
  • Experience working with open source technologies (painful we still need to state this)
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum
  • Exposure to continuous integration
  • Experience working with 3rd party data partners
