Job Description:The Defense & Intelligence group at Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a Cloud Customer Engineer. This is a remote work/telecommute opportunity. JOB SUMMARYThe USAF Common Computing Environment is the expected multi-tenant offering set for the majority of USAF Applications. The Cloud Transition Team (CT2) for the USAF Common Computing Environment (CCE) engages CCE customer mission applications and their stakeholders around the globe to build and manage the pipeline to CCE Offerings. JOB DESCRIPTIONCurrently, CCE provides commercial cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings via Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) rehosting offerings via an on-DoD-Premise Oracle SuperCluster. However, offerings are expected to expand to include milCloud 2.0, and other commercial IaaS, PaaS and Software as a Service (SaaS) providers.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAs part of the team, you will:• Shape CT2 Operations to follow commercial best practices in acquiring mission applications, preparing them for the cloud and determining appropriate reference architectures to best meet their need (e.g. similar to a Google Customer Engineering Pod).• Feed information from CT2 engagements into CCE Roadmapping and Strategic Planning• Coordinate with major USAF and DoD cloud migration stakeholders and technical policy to include:oKeep CT2 team abreast of changes in USAF Enterprise Baselines (Technical Baseline (TB) and Implementation Baseline (IB) and Application Rationalization (App Rat) processesoInfluence stakeholders so that the processes and policies developed by them synchronize with what is technically feasible for CCE and minimizes negative impact on throughput• Build a pipeline of technically good fit, ready-to-go, educated and enthused mission applications• Coordinate with applications to help them find the right offering fit, understand the process and stakeholders to get there, and understand the likely reference architectures that will best fit them in the cloud.• Review and analyze legacy applications, developing refactoring reference architectures for the applications to utilize cloud-native services, and migrating them to the cloud• Provide guidance and expertise on DevOps, migrations, and cloud technologies to customers (both customer mission application program offices and lead customer program offices)• Coordinate with applications and stakeholders to embrace change, to include Cloud, Agile Project Management, and automated DEVOPS.• Coordinate with onboarding and sustainment and migration teams to ensure smooth handoff• Implement and modify modern Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tooling to enable best practices and maximize throughput on CT2 to Migration pipelines• Maintain Service Catalog information (currently in Service Now)• Maintain customer portal (currently a MS SharePoint 2013 from Intelink.gov) and collaborate on migration of intelink portal to the USAF 0365 SharePoint and TBD CRM tooling• Develop insights and metrics across customer and CCE data to enable CCE and Leidos decision making• Work across teams to develop data models for ingestion of project and operations data from other tooling into the future CRM • Be devoted to knowing the latest trends in the Cloud space and solutions• Respond to customer requests and incidentsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree. 2 years practical experience developing applications in the cloud or migrating them to cloud, with 7 years (or 5 years if have a Masters degree in Information Science or Information Security) experience in either software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.Experience in customer engineering / customer engagement for an IT organization that serves multiple external customers to the company/program.Proven success in getting others to embrace technological change and solutionsProficient in Cloud technologies. AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer Certification(s), and/or Azure Architect Certification preferred.Knowledge of the Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices Surrounding:Modern DEVOPS and DEVOPS AutomationsBuild & Packaging Continuous Integration (CI) automation (e.g. Jenkins, Maven) and automated provisioning tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Source code management & artifact management tools (e.g. Git / Subversion / Artifactory)Containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernates)Native cloud templating services (e.g. AWS CloudFormation/Azure Resource Manager (ARM))SW Communication Patterns to include Protocols (e.g. JMS, SSH, AMQP, HTTPS, DDS, SMTP) and associated Cloud Communication Services (e.g. SNS, SQS) and/or cloud hostable products (e.g. RedHat Fuse)On Premise Legacy Data Center to Cloud Data-Cut-over practices (e.g. exfiltration of large vs small data sets from Data centers and transfer to new cloud environment)MVC and 3-Tier application architecture patterns, micro-service patterns, serverless patternsRelational vs No-SQL DB usageTranslate HW Network design into Software Defined NetworkingTeam collaboration tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, RocketChat, TeamForge, Team Foundation Server)Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts (with practical experience assisting projects with RMF, FEDRAMP or DISA Impact Level Certifications preferred)Able to map legacy application architecture components to cloud and/or cloud-compatible replacements at IaaS/PaaS levelsDemonstrated usage of Agile and DevOps processes and activities on project execution.Solid time management skills with the ability to plan, organize and implement multiple initiatives and deadline-driven workloads while consistently providing outstanding customer service.Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work.
