Job Summary

The Senior Competitive Intelligence Marketing Analyst is responsible for creating and implementing a competitive intelligence strategy aimed at increasing win rates by identifying and capitalizing on competitor gaps as well as establishing and leveraging Paycor's positioning. He/she will identify target competitors; build vehicles/processes for gathering and communicating competitive intelligence. He/she will create positioning playbooks and battle cards to enable Sales and Marketing to compete effectively against target competitors using a variety of methods and tools; including, industry events, internal subject matter experts, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Paycor's competitive intelligence strategy.

  • Identify target competitors, build robust research vehicles and processes to stay abreast of competitor activities.

  • Conduct in-depth research of companies and competitors via user conferences, release notes, earnings calls, etc. to identify market conditions, trends and opportunities to uncover key, actionable information and insights for business development strategy.

  • Create summaries to convey information and position Paycor's competitive differences in a condensed format.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across teams to proactively address competitive opportunities and trends.

  • Partner with Sales, Product and Finance teams to deliver insights, including win/loss analysis utilizing CRM data and feedback from prospects and clients.

  • Position Paycor's competitive differences, including fostering the growth of Salesforce "Chatter" and other information sharing activities.

  • Serve as a focal point within the company for competitive requests in support of sales opportunities, such as specialized competitive materials, demand generation campaigns and product marketing initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Four-year degree in related field; Business, Marketing, preferred or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years' experience in B2B marketing, sales or related roles, with 4+ years in competitive intelligence preferred

  • Experience in B2B software industry is required; Human Capital Management software industry is a plus

  • Strong technical skills desired, including solid experience with

  • Strong intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally

  • Some travel may be required

  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; ability to influence/persuade others SDL2017
