Role : Security Vulnerabilities Engineer
Location : NJ
Duration : Long Term Contract

This role is to analyze outstanding Qualys security vulnerabilities, define appropriate actions and implement plans in all system environments. The role will need to work with the Infrastructure & Database Operations Security SWAT team and maintain the vulnerability manager database at all times. Ownership of specific vulnerability types will be allocated to the role and collaboration with application development teams and business owners may be necessary. The position will need to liaise with change management to organize implementation of changes following procedure.


Security Vulnerability Remediation

  • Analyzes allocated Qualys vulnerabilities
  • Identifies appropriate remedial actions
  • Implements vulnerability remediations ensuring that security, change and engineering processes are
  • following accordingly
  • Collaborates with the Infrastructure & Database Operations Security SWAT team
  • Maintains Vulnerability Manager database for all assigned vulnerability types

Knowledge , Skills and abilities.

  • A degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
  • At least 4-5 years of working experience in a RedHat Linux and/or Windows, IIS and .NET based

middleware environment, preferably with a scope of responsibility that spans multiple world geographies and

  • At least 2-3 years' experience supporting a multi-tiered web environment
  • Excellent experience in some of Linux fundamentals, Ruby on Rails, Apache, nginx webserver,
  • Javascript and / or Window Server administration (2008/2012/2016)
  • A good awareness of Microsoft .NET technology
  • Good knowledge on patching procedures for RedHat, Windows OS, .NET, etc.
  • Experience handling large MS .NET and IIS based windows and web applications is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience in at least one end-user ticket management system
  • Experience/good knowledge of an industry standard change management process
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL server 2008/2012/2016 and Oracle RAC is preferred
  • Experience in basic network troubleshooting (e.g. listen, netstat, fiddler, route)
  • Enjoys working in fast pace ever changing work environment
  • Candidate must be flexible in terms of working hours due to the nature of the role.
  • Weekend work and extended days to support organized changes or incidents may be required - but through prior agreement.
