I am an independent Recruiter/Head Hunter and one of my best clients, a highly successful MD consulting firm, is adding staff to their team at this large MD federal agency client that is located near Laurel, MD. Join a Java Development team that is producing enterprise Java applications and be trained to assist moving all systems to continuous integration and automation.

Job Description: US CITIZENS ONLY

This Jr to mid level Java Developer needs to be passionate about developing software the right way and will maximize efficiency within the SDLC through automation training. A keen eye towards troubleshooting and solving problems is paramount.

As a Jr to Mid Level Developer, we're looking for a versatile, confident candidate who will thrive on being able to work within an already established Java team developing enterprise applications. Prefer someone open to learning new technologies including the continuous integration process by bringing creativity and passion in creating innovative software delivery systems that are essential to the overall development effort.

Minimum skills and qualifications:

  • US Citizen- will obtain Public Trust

  • 2+ yrs Java full stack development

  • Experience in Spring, Bootstrap, Agile enterprise application development environments

  • Scripting skills including any of the following: Bash, Python, Shell or Ruby

  • Testing using JUnit and/or other tools

Desired:

*** ** Any Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/automation/DevOps concepts or experience

  • Some experience working with Linux (as a developer)

  • Some experience with writing automation scripts using Jenkins (Jenkins 2.X using Groovy scripting a plus)

  • Experience with writing recipes and automating installation and configurations using Chef or equivalent tool

  • Familiarity with J2EE-stack application servers (i.e. WebLogic, Websphere, JBoss, Tomcat)

  • Familiarity with build-time dependency management (Maven, Ivy)

  • Familiarity with unit testing and code-coverage tools

  • Familiarity with static analysis tools

  • Some experience with SQL and relational database administration (i.e. Oracle, MySQL)

  • Experience with Micro services using open source technologies including Spring/JAVA

Preferred "soft" skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to promote a positive and collaborative teaming work environment

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Good communication (written and oral), analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Good organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and time-management skills
