Job Description

Air Agents is a fast-growing start-up company, with BIG plans for the future. As the UK's most loved management company for hosts on Airbnb, our trusted team deliver an exceptional service to both our guests and hosts alike.

After receiving further investment (we're already backed by investors, including 2 stars from the popular Dragon's Den show!) we are now looking to build on our success and scale ourselves into a truly global and market-leading company.

To help us achieve our goal, we are looking for passionate individuals, with a genuine desire to be part of our fast-paced, ever-changing business. Could you be our next superstar?

What is the Developer role?

This is a really exciting role for us. We're looking to create something great at Air Agents, and to be at the cutting-edge of hosting technology. Reporting directly to our CTO, you'll be a key member of the development team integrating and improving existing products, and even developing new products to help our people and our clients.

This is beyond exciting. It's true greenfield development and we're looking to take the Air Agents into the future with a "Serverless" environment and an event-driven architecture using AWS, GraphQL, Node.js and Vue.js. Whilst we want to be creative and are building our own core system, we're also practical, and will work with 3rdparties to outsource elements as required.

The salary for this role is negotiable dependant on experience, and you'll also receive a range of benefits too.

This is a full-time role in which you can work fully remotely or join us in our London or Bristol based offices, whichever suits you best. There is also the potential to stagger and compress your hours if desired.

What will I be responsible for?

This truly is a very varied full-stack role. Amongst other exciting things, you'll be responsible for;

  • Integrating existing systems and products
  • Improving functionality and processes within existing products (such as our property management system)
  • Centralising data
  • Ensuring all of our interfaces are intuitive and good-looking
  • Liaising with and supporting our 3rd party providers

What skills and experience do I need?

You don't need to be a coding guru but ideally, you'll have at least 3 years of development experience behind you. You should also and be able to provide examples of your recent development work.

At the very least you should be:

  • at home with front-end frameworks (we use Vue.js and Quasar Framework)
  • passionate about writing clean and well-thought out code
  • excited to make things look good and easy to use
  • able to research and pick up technology (we will be using a lotf different Amazon services for example), and motivated to continually learn
  • a good communicator, and able to clearly articulate technical problems
  • able to work well independently and be driven to find solutions

We really do need you to have experience as follows:

  • 3+ years JavaScript / Node.js experience
  • Experience with a front-end framework (Vue/React/Angular etc)
  • NoSQL (some experience) - e.g. Elasticsearch / DynamoDB
  • SQL (fundamentals at least) - e.g. MySQL / PostgreSQL
  • Automated Testing experience
  • UI / UX experience

It would be nice if you had the following, but we can learn together if not!

  • Vue.js (or React experience, as lots of similarities)
  • GraphQL
  • TypeScript
  • AWSserverless: lambda / api gateway / DynamoDBetc

What are you waiting for? If you'd like to be considered for this exciting opportunity then please do get in touch, providing your CV and an accompanying document telling us how you can be our next superstar.
