Remote Storage Engineer / Systems Administrator - 3rd Shift

I don t think the physical location of the resource is critical, including India, as long as they can be had at a low rate and work US night hours.

Most of the activities will be scheduled within our change windows from midnight to 6 am. A rough estimate of the off hour support needed is 30 - 50 hours per week, including some Saturday and Sunday Work

Storage Engineers have been spending considerable time working on maintenance activities outside of their regular work hours. We are looking to relieve them by offloading some of the maintenance tasks to a subcontractor engineers.Listed below are some of the tasks that we are looking to handover:

  • De-provisioning
  • Provisioning
  • New LUNs ( Logical Unit Numbers )
  • LUN expansions
  • Expedited tickets
  • Incident tickets
  • Drive failures
  • Module failures
  • Hardware replacements Co-ordinate with Vendor
  • Modules (XIV, Flash)
  • Drives
  • Battery replacements
  • 3PAR upgrades Coordinate with HP
  • Switch port enable/disable
  • Cleanup
  • Host definitions
  • Volumes
  • Zones
  • Off-hours on-call support
  • Documented tasks for projects.
  • Examples: Monitoring scripts, Monitoring ports after critical changes

Project related tasks such as NPIV implementation will continue to be handled by the End Client engineers.

They ve clarified the request to be 30-50 hrs per *week* of support with at least 1-2 resources.
