This candidate will be responsible for driving the Red Hat platform, conducting reviews of the current environment and making recommendations on strengthening and stabilizing the environment.
This position requires Solid/Intermediate knowledge of the AIX OS and IBM Power hardware.
5+ years' experience of Red Hat including RH 6.X and 7.x.
Experience with both phsyical and virtual (UCS/VMWare) infrastructure.
Experience with Red Hat Satelitte 6.
Exposure to AIX a plus
Possesses development skills to drive automation into our operational environment through scripting, data analysis, and tool development.
Ability to work in team in diverse/multiple stakeholder environment

Excellent problem solving, decision-making and continuous improvement skills and mindset.
Flexible work hours for second and third shift depending on the need.
Acts as the single point of contact for internal efforts addressing Unix servers.
Acts as the Unix Core Support and Integration Engineer escalation point for issues across the environment.
Ensures latest service packs are available for patching team to apply to servers according to patching policy and provide reports to management with most-recent updates.
Maintains documentation for Red Hat system upgrades.
Implements technical improvements/projects that increase the quality and availability of the business systems/services and ensures proper operation.
Conducts incident resolution and problem management by investigating Root Cause Analysis (RCA), capturing action items, and conducting remediation plans.- provided by Dice
