Job Description

Location: Remote


  • Workspace: home
  • Extension/Contract to Hire: This position is contract with the right to hire if a need becomes available. Manager will only look at candidates that are open to converting to a full time employee.
  • Business need for this role: Gap in team skillset, building out multiple teams to help with accelerate development to achieve 2019 objectives.
  • Interview: 1st round phone. 2nd round video skype


  • Days: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: normal business hours
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Weekends/Travel: would need to travel to Pittsburgh if not local a couple times a quarter. Travel expenses covered (if in a city within driving distance candidate should be prepared to drive); weekend work rare

Top must-have skills / Candidate Requirements: Infrastructure Developer / DevOps Engineer

  • Proficiency in programming languages- Python and Go (preferred)
  • APIs- nice to have
  • Testing concepts- nice to have
  • DevOps- preferred
  • Javascript


  • Proficient at multiple development languages, specifically Go and Python
  • Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, APIs, etc
  • Automated testing concepts and frameworks (for example, PyUnit, Unittest, go test, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux

Nice to have

  • Jenkins Pipeline DSL experience and familiarity with Jenkins Shared Libraries
  • Experience in distributed systems design, developing services, etc.
  • Continuous integration and Delivery principals and best practices
  • Source control and configuration management principals and workflow patters using Git
  • Some knowledge of configuration management tools (ie Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with DevOps ToolChain platforms (for example, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonarqube, etc.)
  • Familiar with micro services and relevant technologies such as orchestration, service discovery, service meshes, etc.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to design and implement highly-available and fault-tolerant solutions
  • Understanding of Agile software development concepts (for example, Scrum, Kanban)
  • Ability to schedule, estimate, priorities and deliver to commitments with a number of parallel ongoing efforts
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Proven ability to communicate using oral and written methods
  • Passion and interest to continually yourself automate yourself out of a job
