Lead Graphic Designer

Do you love typography – both digital and hand drawn? We're hiring an experienced, creative Lead Graphic Designer to develop and manage t-shirt designs, illustrations and brand creatives.  

What you'll be doing:

The Lead Graphic Designer will be using their creative design skills to make original graphics that reflect the design aesthetic of our seller’s brands and causes. This designer will be responsible for forecasting trends in typography & illustration styles and interpreting this information through to Bonfire’s community of sellers, specifically owning t-shirt design development from initial concept through our production phases. 

How you'll make a difference:

  • Create apparel graphics from conception through final production-ready art
  • Act as internal champion of the full design cycle of t-shirt designs and evergreen art templates
  • Communicate a clear design point of view for Bonfire t-shirt designs based on consumer insights, competitive analysis, and marketplace trends
  • Meet with account managers or clients to determine the scope of a project
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute seasonal deliverables

  • Create designs to meet or exceed funding needs for client

  • Create and maintain all art files and transfer information to cross functional teams

  • Present the design to account managers or design leads and make necessary changes to design based on feedback

  • Advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience

  • Inspire and motivate graphics team and maintain accountability for quality of work

  • Build and sustain effective partnerships with operations, product teams to keep team informed of development status, graphic techniques, and applications being used

  • Exhibit the ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes

  • Manage timely approvals and meet deadlines

What we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years of progressive graphic design experience; may be substituted for proven skills based on examples
  • Illustration skills required
  • Expert knowledge in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop/Sketch
  • Stunning design portfolio
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture — even in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion in cause and community activities a plus – or the ability to empathize with our community

  • Photography and video direction experience
  • Degree in graphic design or a related field
