Summary The Engineer will be providing technical support and troubleshooting to customers on operational aspects of the client's commercial printing systems, including testing, calibration, trouble shooting andor preventative maintenance. This job will focus on resolving customer issues via phone and chat sessions with the key objective being to "remotely" diagnose and repair problems. In some circumstances, dispatching an on-site technician or sending repair parts as needed. Responsibilities Collaborates closely with field engineers on resolving issues, and helps reproduce customer issues in office lab environment Prioritizes and organizes own work Analysis, interpretation and communication of technical data REQUIREMENTS Associates (2-year) degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in print industry, electronics and mechanical system troubleshooting is desired but not required Excellent mechanical skills and a demonstrated ability to understand 'how stuff works' Must be able to visualize how a system works and logically deduce what the problem is Must have a prior history of education and experience in technical troubleshooting and repair, both electronic and mechanical Must be able to verbally communicate technical instructions over the phone to non-technical people Must exercise patience with non-technical customers, and explain complex issues in layman's terms Familiar and use of hand tools, basic electronic test equipment Detailed knowledge in reading wiring diagrams related to digital press equipment Analyzing problems with non-functional electronicmechanical equipment Preferably, experience in customer facing role, remote support, telephone support, resolve problems sufficiently through verbal description via telephone or e-support Proficiency with a variety of standard and non-standard equipment and devices Proficiency with a variety of programming languages Knowledge and application of process control principles Ability to train others in technical processes andor equipment maintenance Excellent writtenverbal communication and analytical skills Effective in a team environment as well as operating independently Experience in the print industry a plus A working knowledge of primary and subtractive color theory and xerography is a plus Kforce is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer.
