SCRUM MASTER Remote with Client visits in the DC area Location Washington, DC Job Code 992 of openings 1 Description Position - SCRUM MASTER Remote with Client visits in the DC area. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Scrum Master supporting a very large DoD e-commerce project in northern VA. Start is ASAP- Start is Immediate N o candidates without the MandatoryMust-Have items. Location is Remote (Candidate Home office) but Candidate must be in the DC area and have the capability to visit Client site (at least twice a week) more in the beginning Length of Contract is 3 years (1 Year Base with 2 Option years) Fully Funded Employment TYPE -Full-Time Employee FTE with Benefits or 1099 Contract FTE- Medical and Dental and 3 weeks of PTO and more No Third Parties MUST Haves - Mandatory Active DoD Security Scrum Master Certification ( CSM ) E-commerce experience- Nice to Have WebSphere MDM - Nice to Have Large Very large project experience. - Nice to Have Applicable knowledge of the IBM technologies used by the team is preferred. Position Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a broad understanding of technology's impact. JOB DESCRIPTION Essential Duties Guiding the team and organization on how to use AgileScrum practices and values to delight customers. Guiding the team on how to get the most of out self-organization. Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the AgileScrum frameworks. Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization. Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment. Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving. Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog. Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example. Required SkillsExperience Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. (Adjust based on your necessity) Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency. Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example numerous Burndown httpsluis-goncalves.comburndown-chart-ultimate-guide technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.). Preferred SkillsExperience (Any of these is a plus) Experience is playing the Scrum Master role for at least three years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. (Adjust based on your necessity) IBM Product knowledge Knowledge of other Agile approaches XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games. Applicable knowledge of the IBM technologies used by the team is preferred. The experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example various Burndown httpsluis-goncalves.comburndown-chart-ultimate-guide technologies, many Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.). Excellent communication and mentoring skills. Required education level.
